We leave behind the exposed northern coastline for a bit of protection inside Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula. Between the (many) raindrops, we manage to spot some truly amazing wildlife as we island hop on our way up the inside of the peninsula.

After checking into Costa Rica in Playas Del Coco, we spend the first weeks exploring the coast along the Nicoya Peninsula in beautiful Guanacaste Province in northern Costa Rica. And we get a new dinghy!

Our friends dubbed it “The Amazing Race” Challenge: We had to get Rua Hatu on to a mooring then get both our luggage and all three pets to our rental car, and also leave the dinghy at the boat.
